Loza, thank you for your videos. They are always so helpful.

That does not look like A2 to me with the talon injuries. I am not sure who that eagle is. The dark streaking behind the eyes is missing. Another female? Another male? It appears that territorial battles are still going on.

I have wondered if the talon injuries is why it likes to lay in the soft nest

One minute it looks like Missy - the next minute it doesnt

no sign of Sam today - at least I havent seen him

Jan 31 Thursday
4 pm

Newbie is back again - first in nest then on branch
Missy enters - starts her screaming
Except for wounds on talons, Newbie looks a lot like Missy
Newbie really wants this nest - acts like they have nested before
dusty brown tailtip so I spose its another 5 year old - seems older tho - to me

I wonder if AEF is trying to ID Newbie

This one certainly has been persistent today! Samson just doesn't seem to like more than 1 houseguest @ a time and rather than to offend somebody, he just leaves till they are gone! Hope he is okay, wherever it is he goes.

I'm still leaning toward the visitor being a male, larger maybe, but male till I can see otherwise. Behavior is what is swaying me. In report she mentions how calm and sweet she is, but yesterday with the dusty-headed visitor, he seemed to have a more aggressive manner and was louder. It is the one who I said had his "Wheaties". Certainly I agree he did not seem loud or aggressive @ all today with A2 of what I could see. Most of the day whichever cam I chose would freeze almost immediately after going in. I didn't get the buffering though. Did anyone else have this problems with cams here today? Here's the Tuck-In:

Jan 31, 8:13 PM

gretchen_AEF (Admin): THURSDAY Tuck-In: It was an early tuck tonight as your ground crewperson left the nest shortly after the visiting eagle flew, although I waited a bit for her to return. She could have flown over to Tatine's Tree (TT), as 2 eagles were spotted there about that time. This eagle is a pretty one and has spent considerable time at the nest over the past couple of days. Judging by size we believe the eagle is a female. She's calm and seems sweet, but when A2 is at the nest, A2 doesn't want the eagle there! SED

They are home! A2 and same visitor. A2 is not happy!!

A2 has driven him out of the nest twice with her screams! :teehee:

Eventually he decided to leave completely and only A2 remains on tree.

:spingirl: As the Nest Turns, part 2
February 1, 2019
5.45 am No overnite eagle, but I hear an animal calling - what kind?
Coulda been an otterdog (male) calling, sounded a little like a sick cow
SWINWK thanks for otter pics - they're cute lil guys!
https://www.flickr.com/photos/94664847@ ... 9284829453

6.45 am I hear cries of birds but no eagle - very odd
Night critters go silent and the Day critters awaken.
Moonlight is reluctantly giving way to the first fingers of Dawn

7.30 Finally eagles arrive, one chuckling, Missy screaming
After Newbie roots in nest a bit, Missy's screaming ousts her

There was a lotta discussion in the chatroom whether its male or female
Perhaps Sam is staying away til the girls decide

A2 on branch as I leave. She came in a few minutes ago with some vocals, but not nearly as loud. She even allowed him to go to the nest while she aired her wings remaining on the branch. He is gone for now.
