The intruder did give chase to M15, they circled back and came through again, the intruder is larger than M15, you could see Harriet standing up in the nest and then she jumps in on the chase!! Maybe M15 had the fish when he was 1st coming in. Will wait to see what mod says and for identities. The time of who I think is M15 coming in can be seen from the pond cam at 1645.

Here's their update, so it was M15 coming in, but honestly to me the intruder was chasing M15 and when Harriet had enough, she joined in, but I will review from the pond cam again.

Latest Update: 3 minutes ago
4:45 intruder chased off by M, H joins, 4:49 H to nest, 4:50 M to tree, 4:53 both leave, H to nest with fish.
(The mods believe M15 came in with the fish originally and somehow Harriet ended up with it.)

I stand by my observation that M15 is the one being chased initially. Hoping there are people from the ground who can report. Now they are saying Intruder left the tree at 5:10, so I am wondering if M15 ever returned. Haven't reviewed the nest cam yet. With them attempting to follow by scanning, it is difficult to put it all together for me. But, Harriet is okay!! Going to look back for a return to the tree or nest by M15. Sorry this is all so disjointed. Here was their last update:

5:10 intruder leaves the nest tree, 5:12p H finishes fish and begins incubating.

:buzzybee: What an afternoon and situation to walk in on. M15 is okay!! You can see M15 and Harriet on the nest together at 1756! Here are newest updates:

5:33p M to treetop perch, H vocal. 5:46p M flies off treetop to the pond. H incubating.

5:56p M to eggs, incubating. H telling him all about the afternoon. Food Today: Fish/Partial Fish-1.

:15heartbeat: Check out 1430 on the nest cam and you can see Harriet lunge at the intruder when it attempts to land on the nest! I know one of the SWFL admin thought it was male, but I ended up thinking female. Probably about 5 y/o. Currently, M15 is on the outer attic and Harriet is on the eggs.

:15heartbeat: M15 is on the outer attic and Harriet is on the eggs, although there seems to be a problem with the IR right now and she is hard to see. No known visits from yesterday's intruder today.

:leafthumbs: M15 came in with a fluff delivery and together (she from the bowl) they spread it around. Eventually, M15 decided to plop some of it on her, so she got up and left ... of course he wasted no time in getting his turn on the eggs ... probably the plan from the beginning!! :teehee:

:taz: Another owl attack on M15 last eve at about 1955! I was unable to find info on the Hancock site. Here is Lady Hawk's account of the event under her video:

"The owl comes back tonight, flying up from below the nest swiftly and hits M15 as he is perched in the attic. Harriet is watching from the nest and sounds alert vocals. Fortunately, the owl does not knock him off the branch. M moves closer to Harriet as if to make sure she is okay, then back out further on the attic.

This is the 2nd strike upon M since Harriet laid her eggs. They remain on alert this evening with M in the attic and Harriet incubating the eggs. Thank you for watching!"

Also, mods here are reporting a sub-adult started to land on the tree this morning, but Harriet was perched in the tree and alerting as was M15 on the eggs and the SA diverted!!

:nervous: Harriet and M15 are kinda getting it "morning, noon and night" as they say, aren't they!!

:15heartbeat: M15 is currently on the nest! He brought Harriet a squirrel earlier that she quickly devoured! They had a peaceful evening and night. I do not see Harriet on any of the cams for now.

:15heartbeat: Should be a nest exchange soon as Harriet has been to the pond for a bath on her return to the pasture and is now preening and drying on one of the snags. M15 remains on the nest!
