jd_AEF (Moderator): Samson returns to the nest just after chat...guess he wasn't feeling chatty today.

He and Gabby do some nestorations and he hops up to Sunset branch again.

jd_AEF (Moderator): Gabby seems very contented to be at home in her nest today

jd_AEF (Moderator): Sam decides to fly at 10:29 and Gabby follows close behind.

:taz: I am having tremendous difficulties getting the cams to come in. But, from chat on the HDonTAP site both Gabby and Samson are there. I finally got cam 2 to come in with a frozen screen of Gabby. Otherwise, all I get is a black screen with the COD at the NEFL site and HDonTAP site. Really a shame ...

Others seem to be able to see the cams. I went to You Tube and am watching from there. Both are working in the nest at 5:36 PM nest time.

:7val: Samson flew at 5:48, right after Gabby had come back with a small stick to the nest bowl and also to do a little work to it. She saw him leave, stopped her work and kept watching toward the direction he flew in and then she flew in the same direction a minute later!

aka_AEF (Moderator): Good Friday afternoon awesome Hamlet family! Thank you for being here on this beautiful but windy day! What appeared to be a little Robin stopped by on Lookout Point branch for a short while. Ground crew is on their way to the nest. Gabby arrived at the nest and flew to the Sunset branch where she is perched at 5:21. Samson is home and both doing nesterations. Samson flies to Sunset Branch, Gabby is in the nest. I will keep both cams on Gabby when she is in the nest.
Nov 29, 4:50 PM
aka_AEF (Moderator): Gabrielle flies from the nest and flies back immediately with a stick! Samson flies down from Sunset branch to assist in stick placement. Both flew from tree at 5:48. Samson first and Gabrielle followed.

Samson actually flew down from Sunset Branch to an adjacent branch to the nest and this is where he flew from. He never assisted with placement of a stick. The 4K cam is functional and has a 12 hour DVR.

suncats_AEF (Moderator): 11:05 am Samson returned to the nest and is currently perched on Wallenda Branches, and Gabrielle remains on Sunset Branch.

suncats_AEF (Moderator): 11:44 am Samson hops down to the nest to do nestorations, and at 11:46 both Samson and Gabrielle flew from the nest. Samson looked like he saw something.

13.11 Is empty

:1val: Thanks, loza!! I'm back for now. My computer went "haywire" yesterday, although in hindsight, I think whatever the problem was had been creeping up on me. Just hoping it doesn't happen again. But, I've muddled through it for now ...

Glad Samson and Gabby are doing okay! At 1:26 pm, Gabby arrived to the nest with a fish! Samson arrived shortly after and although he was interested in her fish, he worked on the nest bowl before flying to a branch. Can be seen on the 4K DVR on YT.

:7val: They are gone now, but Gabby arrived just a bit before 5:00 pm on a branch! After awhile, it was suspicious that Samson was in the area as she was craning her neck to keep an eye on something. He showed up on the nest about a half an hour after her arrival and immediately began gleaning morsels from the fish Gabby had brought in and eaten earlier today. She let him glean for a bit, but came in and took the morsel from him and ate it herself and then looked for more. She already had a humongous crop from her earlier meal. Poor Samson just went to branch. When she was done, she decided to lie in the bowl for awhile. They flew about 20 minutes after Samson's arrival! Probably to the LY as chatter could be heard after their leaving the nest tree.

gretchen_AEF (Admin): SUNDAY TUCK-IN: We were thrilled Gabrielle and then Samson joined the chatters this evening, and we were all hoping they would remain at the nest through the night. They both flew to the LY and are fully tucked on this windy night on their protected pine. For those facing serious weather, please be cautious and safe. Hoping your Thanksgiving was wonderful. SED

jd_AEF (Moderator): 4:04 pm Gabrielle has arrived at the nest on the Wallenda branches.

Dec 2, 3:18 PM

jd_AEF (Moderator): Samson and Gabrielle flew into the nest area at 5:53 pm and immediately mated...they could be seen on cam 3.
Dec 2, 5:00 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Looks like they could be settling in for an overnighter

:taz: They did stay the whole night and now I understand what they meant when they said Gabby "was woken up on the wrong side of the nest and is unhappy"!!

Dec 3, 5:23 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 6:03 am Gabby had an owl encounter and was knocked from her branch...Sam flew immediately and both Sam and Gabby can be heard in the distance, likely at the LY.

Edit to add:

Gabby was hit on the front side of her body while her head was tucked as she was sleeping!! They have a video with slo-mo of the incident posted on chat here by flyeagle78_AEF and this is the commentary underneath that video:

"Samson and Gabby spent the night at the nest. All was peaceful until about 6am when a barred owl (confirmed by cam ops and mods) flew in and knocked Gabby off her perch. Samson was preening and he heard the encounter and quickly flew off. We could hear Gabby and Samson vocalizing from afar after the encounter. All is well as Gabrielle and Samson, as both returned to the nest a bit later and did a bit of housekeeping."

Also, Gabby has made another visit to the tree this morning at 11:53 nest time.

Dec 3, 10:53 AM
cyn_AEF (Admin): Well, Gabrielle made a very short and vocal visit, but remained in her favorite hiding spot. The only place in the whole tree that cannot be seen by any cam. Below nest, behind tree, and close to the trunk. All that could be seen were the feet. Thanks to jd one of our cam ops for spotting her!

:15heartbeat: There were no more visits by Samson and Gabby to the nest tree, but a little before 6:00 pm:

babyhawk_AEF (Moderator): Samson & Gabrielle are roosting over at the Lumber Yard. Gabrielle was there first then Samson just flew in before chat started.

Edit to add:

Dec 3, 7:28 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): TUESDAY TUCK-IN: There was an empty nest when we arrived for tuck tonight, so soon off to the LY we went. There was Gabby perched in the batman position in their ST in the LY. It was getting quite dark, but Samson finally arrived, as they greeted each other with vocals. Unfortunately they didn't join the chatters tonight, but they are nearby and fully tucked. Listen for their vocals early tomorrow. SED to all and stay warm!

:7val: They're home!! Both can be seen on cam 1 right now.

Dec 4, 9:52 AM
cyn_AEF (Admin): Incoming! Gabrielle returns with vocals at 10:46. Samson on Wallenda branch and Gabrielle on LookOut Point branch

Edit to add:

Dec 4, 10:56 AM
cyn_AEF (Admin): Gabrielle off at 11:46
Dec 4, 11:24 AM
tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Happy Wednesday afternoon, faithful Hamlet viewers! Samson seemed to be tracking something above the nest tree and he flew off at 12:21, after vocals.
