March 7
6.30 am Both arrive, UNbanded inside box, banded flew off
I am not sure that was Buffy .... Is AU courting 2 - sometimes they do ...

I can only tell by BANDS or her BUFF color
This unbanded female in box was not buff color
Neither remained long

Is this situation between 2 females still unsettled?

:flirty: Someone is atop the left side of the roof right now after midnight! They keep looking upwards every little bit.

They flew abruptly at 00:32 by diving up, out and down and flying along the right of the building out of sight!

Returned at 00:40 to ledge and is vocal!! Stood a minute vocalizing and walked down parapet toward left and out of view. ??? What's up this time of night?

there is another falcon out there an d I do not think friendly. Female in box and out watching. I saw flying and one came right across box. area and out
do not think friendly would do that otherwise but we will see , unless it is male and male . I have to go but I should catch it on tape . she ha d been chupping a lot and is now watching . now on ledge chupping away , and onto platform.

this part I do not like.
10:32- she is back in box chupping. nothing is showing in sky but it seems to be high out away from box, to left and above box area

fingers crossed
one in sight again. I do believe 2 males out there

March 8 - Daylight time
6 am edt Fat falcon peeping atop box
6.30 She came down on ledge, peeping - I dont see another bird
6.45 off she flies
7.22 AU arrives on ledge peeping - hops inside but its black as night
7.30 both arrive, one ledge one box
8.30 Lotta flyin in n out
8.40 Both on top of box
10.30 She is in the box, on the floor, then ledge - appears to be kakking
WISH WE HAD SOUND! If so, 2 females are scrapping for this box
I see falcons flying outside - maybe competing with that helicopter :)

I am taking notes on an edit sheet - here they are
bev I agree with you - egg laying is near.

Maybe lasts year's female is aggressive thinking this box is hers.
I dont think this is going to settle down. Perhaps 2019 has eggs to lay too

Just wanted to expand on this. I had checked earlier in the evening after dark and nobody was home. So I have no idea when this one arrived. It seemed harmless at first, but then I noticed it kept looking upwards to the sky above and it made me think another falcon was nearby, so I kept watching. As far as identifying this falcon, I felt I could not, but even though it was dark, the chest appeared to be a brilliant white. It's feathers were blowing quite a bit in the wind and I saw some separation that POSSIBLY could have been a brood patch, but I can not say for sure. I checked the weather and don't remember if the wind was only 2 or 4 miles an hour and temp was 36 or 38 degrees, but this high up on the building the winds would have been more. It seemed to be the same falcon when it arrived to the ledge as I could see the brilliant white chest feathers. It was quite vocal and again I felt another falcon must be nearby. I could kick myself for not checking for leg bands when it walked down the ledge, but I was caught up in the moment and didn't even think to. I was leaning toward it being the banded male here as I do not have any idea what the 3rd falcon looks like. But in light of seeing the 3rd falcon flying in the air this morning, I have to wonder if who I saw during the night was the banded male here or the intruder as it seemed nervous looking upward and vocal. Will never know for sure. But would make sense as it seemed out of place that time of night, nervous looking upward and vocalizing. I stayed another 45 minutes to an hour afterwards in case something was going on, but never saw anything else after the falcon walked down the ledge.

This morning when I saw the 3 falcons, the buffy chested unbanded female was in the box, the banded male was on the ledge when the 3rd falcon did a flyover. The male flew from the ledge and I did see another flyover while the female remained, but I have no idea who did the flyover.

There's a good bit of flying around the ledge.

14:01- banded male just appeared at box and he was chupping. He flew off after less than a minute
14:05- banded male on box , chupping, and flew off .

watching my morning tape

14:08- male back to ledge chupping now quiet. I still think two males vying. he just flew off

14:13 male back to box and then off again

I am not going to contradict anyone here, but I am going to try and retape some of this mornings if I can. Still watching it ,and the present ,
