I was wondering the same thing Shep ( maybe 4 ) will watch tape closely

now I am thinking this is a male thing again. he was just in and ou t again but went at back of box when he came in quickly

Poor things! I feel so sorry for them!

Its Sonday - I'll bet they have an audience on the street

- some watching excitedly
- some watching fearfully
- some annoyed
- some with *stuff* in their hair ....

.... and somewhere .. a dog is barking .....

If I live in the area I'd be there

this is between 2 males in my opinion. I have watched a lot of this from ground at my sites. the male is in and out on defensive right now. . he is in and out . exactly what I witnessed at my Weber site a few years back when male lost the site. Peter and I monitored from ground .

still watching this mornings but so far , female is watching the action. the fly bys so far are not aimed at her.

I am just going by what I have watched from ground. It is hard for Peter and I to watch this sort of thing from ground but we do in case someone gets hurt and to learn and to see what is happening. We can rescue if we have to.

my heart is with this male

In 2015 The Baltimore nest (chesapeake) female was beaten by the current Barb.
The old female was bloody - she was a mess. I wonder if she survived.

trying to watch this mornings and now and male still back and forth. the intruder has bands I did a back up and caught a good shot as it came through ledge at 11:12am. I will post pictures after

I am going ot write some notes with some some photos from this morning. I will do a short video of when male was in and female in box and fly throughs but have to take present recording. off

definitely 2 males . no t saying there may not be another female out there( do not know) but this action we are seeing is between males

it is getting more aggressive right now it seems on tha t last landing at box

Perhaps the intruders are a mated pair who need a nest and they want this one - badly. Perhaps they lost theirs and she needs a place for her eggs.

I hope intruder male spies another nest spot -
and this pair lets them be

10:44am- lull in action.
11:06- she goes to top of box and is comfortable

11>11 starts again.
11:12- male in : close fly bys ( banded intruder)


banded intruder ( looks big but in direct range of cam)

- mal e to ledge, wings back , almost slips off a few times in defense

11:13, fly by and male flies out
11:14- fly through , but not directed at female
11:17 - female to ledge and then to roof and flies off ( out of harms way)

it starts up again at 1:16pm- quite aggressive. will do that later, unless someone else wants to

right in middle of monitoring someone came to buy computer desk so I had take everything down firsts. But I took photos as many times to ledge as possible

all banded falcons I believe so will check carefully and you all can come to your conclusions.

so you can see speckles swink was talking about an d then you see white chest. so it is a poo shoot now. so much action , so quick and off and on .

you can see in 2 pictures speckling that SWink mentioned . it is all a poo shoot. maybe there are 4 out there, who knows. would have been nice to be on ground to see what was really happening
at 21:17, falcon on ledge was chupping and left.

I went back and watched the 4 minutes vidoe . it was white chested male but as it changed in lighting, it looked like some speckles and then all white. So could it be lighting at times, or cam , not sure. just pointing that out.
