The confusion
Evidently the banded female won the fight and the nestbox - but not AU

12.40 pm Banded fem in box peeping, AU (probly) on ledge ignoring her
She goes to ledge - he ignores her .. now this is almost funny ..
1 pm She goes to the floor .. finally she flies away.
NOW WHAT

A female needs a mate

yes, she is barb. she is kind of cute and male ignores her. He will warm up .wonder if the same banded one from last year

maybe buffy with other male and that is where she was originally, maybe. We do no t know as cam was not up.

as I type, male in box , calling, now female playing hard to get. too funny. you can see i am not getting much done :teehee:

eggs due at san jose and Harrisburg. so have them up also

I see a lot of bugs flying around. I also saw two large birds way up in the sky floating along, circling and then disappear in the clouds. Neither falcon moved when they passed by.

Her band is 95/AX black/ green. (Edit) actually 95/AK

They've moved the cam angle, maybe to try and see any action out there. She came off the roof and flew and I did not even know she was up there.

B/G returned and must have knocked the cam askew - cant see inside box
She is now on ledge kakking

I think both are females

Here is the band Numbers for last years Juvie that I sooooooooooo wanted to return this season!!

Observations were made of a new female beginning on April 1st. On April 5th, we were able to verify that the new female is a second-year/ immature bird, based on the streaky markings down her breast and belly. The black over green bands on her left leg read 95/AK and her federal USGS band on her right leg is silver. The silver color of the USGS band illustrates that this bird is from out-of-state (Virginia birds have green USGS bands).

She was the female still with him when they turned the cams off last season.

It's her Carolyn, I zoomed it and thanks sooooooooo much! What a transformation she's had in a year almost!! She'll be 2 in June! I remember someone from the ground saying she acted or sounded like a juvie when she chased the male here food begging last season. Could that have been obxbarb? :penguin:
