sos great to see this. It is maggies 6th birthday this year. she is an educator bird in Virginia. She was injured after she hit a wall. she was from this site. I sponsor her every year.

Dear Beverley,
Since you've adopted Maggie the Peregrine Falcon through the Center's Caring for Critters program, we wanted to be sure you knew that her hatch-day is this week!

It's not often that we know the exact birth date or hatch date of a wild animal, but we do if it's one of those rare instances when we get a glimpse into a wild nest cam. Since Maggie hatched on the Richmond Peregrine Falcon cam, we know she came into the world on April 30, 2014.

It's hard to believe she's turning six years old this week -- I remember when she came in as a young fledgling, after crashing into a building in downtown Richmond. In many ways, it seems like that was just a year or so ago! But we've been able to see Maggie grow up in her years with us, and mature into a beautiful falcon.

To celebrate, I'll give her a special birthday gift of sorts (stuffed with some tasty treats) on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. on Facebook LIVE. Join in the fun and send your birthday greetings!

Also, as we continue to navigate this new world in the COVID-19 pandemic, we've been doing many more online presentations and videos to keep people entertained and connected with our work. Recently, I did a reading of Maggie's book, by author Christie Gove-Berg. Check it out here, and share with your favorite Maggie fan!

Love this Bev! I have the book and I read it to all the little ones in my family when they come for a visit. My niece Lorelei has me read it every time she comes over! She loves Maggie! I will be sure to be on Facebook this Thursday. My heart is so happy that Maggie is being well taken care of.

It wasn't working again this morning...but, it is now...fingers crossed. This would be a bad time for the cam to go down!!

Mom has already come back to relieve Dad...does she know the time is near?

:1val: Just now, the 1st time I tried getting to cam I wasn't able to. However, when I tried the 2nd time I was able to get in. Dad is on duty. We are 2 days from the start of their predicted 1st hatch window.

:7val: After 4 or more try's, I was able to get in and Dad is on duty. We are officially on pip watch, although when I have been able to get in recently, never been lucky enough to catch a nest exchange. I wonder if they even realize there are problems with being able to view the cam at times. From site:

Unfortunately, even when you get the cam, eventually it goes to this screen (the same one you get when trying to go in to view the cam):

"HLS.js error: networkError - fatal: true - manifestLoadTimeOut"

They do know, I posted on the facebook page yesterday and they said to reboot. A little clueless.

:1val: Finally saw a nest exchange, but Mom blocked the view of the eggs as she came in to take over. Not seeing any reaction toward the eggs from Mom and Dad as yet.

:1val: Nest exchange with Mom coming on duty. Got to see all 4 eggs in between COD time outs. No changes noted.
