Well, look who came for a visit...DAD!!! (I think I was the only one excited)

He jumped down behind the box

Stayed for a few seconds, then came back up.

Came over to have a word with Mom..

I wonder if she thought he had come to relieve her....nope, he left, she jumped up on the ledge, but then returned to the box instead of following him...

A few minutes ago.

Well, that's all the time I have to watch today...

Hope the little one gets a gigantic meal later on today....happy watching..I won't be back until late Saturday afternoon.

hmmmmmmmm....well, as I was typing, Mom took off, baby came out...did some flapping and chatting, but has headed back in....

Mom is back for a feed...Baby doesn't know that yet...it better get out there or she's gonna eat it all...

Right now stand off...baby won't go to the box and Mom won't go to him...LOL

Saw chick come from cam direction and get under parapet again.

Came in at 17:34 and Mom was in nest with part of prey and chick was in motion headed further in to area between nest and parapet. Mom brought out the remains and headed in direction of cam and I am too late to know if chick got any this time. I would not think the chick would leave the nest while food was around ... But, I see from catwoman's capture, it did. :teehee:

And back to it's favorite place between the nest and parapet ...

I see the chick out again at 19:38. Have to leave for a bit, but chick is standing outside of nest on the right side at 19:50.

Just got back and the chick is in the same place. It turned sideways and I can see it has a crop. At 20:16, chick is in it's favorite spot between the nest and parapet again. At 20:19, it came out in front of the nest and is over by the right side of the box. At 20:22, it's leaning against the slanted wall. It moved at 20:28 and is lying with it's head against the bottom of the nest, then promptly changed it's position again. It's going to sleep. It got up at 21:11 and is standing, preens, flaps it's wings. Started to go to it's favorite place, but came back in front of the nest and preens.

Back to the slanted wall. couple minutes later, back in front of the nest. Really a shame the chick does not have any siblings to interact with. It thought about getting in the nest, but went back to the slanted wall instead. PS at 21:48 and then up and into the nest!!

The chick was sitting in the left, front, corner of the nest trying to sleep when the lights went out.

At 00:08 Mom is standing next to the chick in the middle of the nest and she came out and went up to the parapet. When I went back in, Mom was not in sight. The chick continues to sit up near the middle of the nest. Mom came back to the parapet a minute later and flew up to the roof of the nest. The chick knows she is up there and keeps looking up. I hope it doesn't come out of the nest. It has moved to the front of the nest. I think they are getting some lightning. Yep, they are definitely getting lightning, hope the chick stays put. The chick did a PS and is preening as I leave at 00:50.

Sitting in nest. Have watched for several minutes and is tipping head back and opening and closing beak frequently.
Lying in the nest asleep at 9:51. At 11:12, chick is in nest picking through scraps from the floor and Mom is atop the nest box roof. Mom flew at 11:34. Chick is asleep in nest at 11:45. Came in at 12:03 and Mom was leaving nest and headed in direction of cam. Maybe she will bring back food from her stash. Chick remains in nest and is vocal. Mom is back at 12:07 empty-handed and chick is very vocal! Mom came out of the nest in the same minute headed in direction of cam, but diverted and flew up toward parapet. Don't know if she landed or kept going, but am sure she knows chick is ready for a meal. Mom returned to the nest at 12:15 without food and chick remains vocal. She left and went to the parapet. Flew at 12:16. Mom arrives to the parapet at 12:21 with food and the chick is excited! Chick snatched it from Mom as soon as she went in the nest with it. Mom got it back. Feed in progress! It was not a whole bird but a clump. Chick got most of it and Mom had about 4 bites. Nothing remains and Mom left at 12:28. Chick has a nice crop now! Chick is lying in the nest at 12:35 and looks as if will be having a nap. Sleeping at back of nest.

Came in on feed in progress by Dad. He continued to feed and then toward the end he took a few bites for himself, then more for the chick. At 15:16, Mom with a messy beak arrived with more food to the parapet and Dad is done with feed (no remains), exits the nest and flies. Mom remains on the parapet. Chick has a PS at 15:20. Mom to the nest with clump of fresh-looking food, chick steals it from her and tries to get out of Mom's way, but she got it back and paused with it and I thought she was going to begin the feed, but surprisingly left the nest with it and headed in the direction of the cam and out of sight. Chick remains in the nest with a small crop.

4:47 pm and nobody in the box, but I think I see the chick to the left...in its favorite spot.

Mom came to visit about 5 pm..The youngster paid her a visit..

They exchanged pleasantries, then the munchkin stepped/flopped out of the box...and did a little flapping.

and returned...
