:eggthumb: Great captures, sky!! Only see Mom now ... on the parapet by the building preening. Did VDGIF name Ozzie and Harriet?

Dad brought mom food for the baby, and she apparently doesn't know where baby is so she's eating her herself. :girlyes:

No...BCAW named them and somehow VDGIF picked up on the names and it stuck.

Dad just brought dinner. I was hoping this would bring the little one running...but, nope...and it looks like Mom is about to finish it up.

I got the circle the cam makes and real quickly, baby is behind the nestbox. I didn't get a good look at her or where she cam from.

I don't know whether it was baby or mom that was behind the box, because mom just came out from behind there. :girlcrazy:

I'm getting nervous about where baby is. You'd think mom would know where to feed her. I don't know if there are any Fledged Watch personnel there. :nervous:

:15heartbeat: I think it's a little early for a purposeful fledge and I don't believe there is a watch this weekend. I don't see the chick not getting involved in a food delivery unless it is asleep around the bend or something and unaware. I keep watching for it, but have not seen it so far. Sky, can we go ahead and name them as they are certainly a confirmed pair.

My last pic of the little one at 4 pm. She was headed in the direction of the arrow. Granted, I was processing pics after that, so easily could have missed her coming back into view.

Image

Mom has been on the end of the ledge this entire time. She periodically jumps down behind the box, then comes back up. When Dad brought food, I did not witness Mom calling...she took a few looks around before she started eating....without guilt!! LOL

Unless they have blocked off sections, that ledge is HUGE and she could just be snoozing somewhere else.

This season while watching Columbus (yay) and other nests, there were numerous times when there would be food and 1 or more chicks didn't even bother to raise their heads for the feed. I saw that several times at Columbus...especially a few times with the baby..and was just hoping it was ok...of course it was.

Hopefully as it gets darker, the little one will come home....if not and if it doesn't show in the morning, I'll alert Barb!!

Names? I think we should come up with some suggestions and go from there. (With Barb's approval, of course. I consider these her birds!!) I don't think VDGIF will care since it will be unofficial. BCAW members have named all the VA birds over the past years...some stuck, some didn't!!

:15heartbeat: Okay, sky. After we sort through this situation, maybe name suggestions can be made. I am concerned about the chick and Mom does not normally hang out in cam view as she is currently doing. I realize she or he are usually nearby even when we don't see them. I will leave this cam up although will not have eyes on constantly.

Mom just left. I couldn't tell if she took the leftovers with her, but I don't think she had time to eat it all. I'm hoping the little one was fed out of came view.

This was the food drop..

Dad arrives, with mom not far behind him.

Well, if my internet behaves (it currently is not), I'll keep the recorder on the cam until it goes dark.

This is the down side of not having the cage. Ledge is huge, no cam operator, only a small portion of the ledge in view...so, :nervous:

I'll try to find a better pic...but just a reminder of how huge the ledge space is. When the cam rotates to the right, this is what you have. It goes on and on and on...

I forgot to look, but I think this is from 2013 or 14.

Image

I'm not quite sure about the very last arrow in the distance, but we have seen fledges on that far ledge before...

:15heartbeat: Lights out. The chick did not return and has not been seen by anyone for a little over 7 hours now. There is some visibility tonight with the cloud cover.
