:1val: Mom is shielding her crew right now. Lots of feathers in the nest. Back in and chicks are alone at 17:39.

Edit to add: Mom did come back and brood.

:flirty: Chicks are alone in the nest and sleeping in a heap. Was away for a bit and when I came back they were still alone, in the nest at least. I was standing away from the computer, but looked like Dad went in to check on them in the nest for a minute or two near 8:30. It's 9:08 and still Mom not in the nest. She could be right outside of the cam view or he could be. Saw a shadow pass the left back wall that was not generated by the chicks. So, hopefully she will check in soon. Have not seen this behavior from her this season and want to be sure that she is okay. Hoping the little one is on the inside of this pile. None are old enough to thermoregulate. It is 60 degrees right now and headed down per the weather report I pulled up. They are all okay right now, just want her home soon. It looked a little black under one of the older ones left wing proximally when he stretched it out. Wonder if the biologist here has cam control from home. Maybe he will see they are alone and pull back to see where the parents are. Mom arrived at 9:37 and into the nest and broods. All is well!! :eggthumb:

:eggthumb: Dad just in with food. Before he came in, I was able to see the crop of 3 of the chicks and they were already large. Dad is feeding anyway! He fed for a bit, then surprise they fell asleep! He started eating, then a couple stirred around and he fed them more, then they fell asleep again. Dad finished up and then left the nest. now the chicks are regrouping. They are covered in tiny gray, feathers from all the prey being brought in here and sticking to them. And soon asleep.

:flirty: Can see 3 of the chicks sleeping right now. Dad just hopped up on the lip to check on them and then right back out. As I leave Dad just popped back in and went in the nest to check on them again and then he left.

:15heartbeat: Mom is standing on the lip of the nest box and the chicks are spread out and stirring around. Saw one of their crops and it looked a little deflated, so maybe a feed coming up soon.
