july14\\the 2 kids and adults are less stressed
I know my photo s do not show it, but we were watching it.

these 2 adults have been amazing , with all this heat, they have brought in at least 10 feeds every day, except 2
Trying to keep kids hydrated and mom would stay in and try to shade them all, form when they were wee. dad would hand off prey like crazy and even feed kids himself.

last feed mom brought in a huge duck and left with lots of leftovers as kids were getting full on previous feds, not like before,

pictures from today
mom looking so relaxed, instead of rushing out getting more prey

handsome dad; He looks so much like Charlotte

I do not know when we are getting out of this heat wave, but it will be easier for this family now

and me, I am dying with the heat :1sum: :1sum: :1sum: :1sum:

I will do nice slideshow form birth till now this weekend. I will make the time

Bev, do you know the hack location?
I agree with you that they made the right call.

Yes , I do , Ingrid. I go and watch them every year. I think there is a link here . I will look for it. It is truly a joy, to watch them all fly and learn. If they make a mistake, they just land on the hill or the cliff. We even watch them bathe in the river.
I went back and Beth created a spot , Edmonton , pembina

Someone must have removed the chick because it's not there anymore.

Oh NO...I just checked the cam. No chick in the box.. :tissue:

I took a screenshot at 11:38 this morning of the deceased chick and by 12:17 it was gone. I didn't see what happened during that time in between but I imagine someone removed her. I wonder why she died. I think bev was doing fledge watch somewhere.

Someone else posted the chick was gone on FB.

I usually leave it to Bev to post but I am stepping in this time because she is a wreck. We both are. Early this morning Bev informed me that N76 had passed on. We were naturally devastated to lose her after she had endured so much during the heat wave. We were concerned for 78 too as she had been rather lethargic at times. This morning she was fed by N59 and because we already knew of 76’s passing we would watch her even more closely. Bev and Peter were out at a rescue of our chic at the Mis who had gone to ground for a second time. I was going through notes and tapes from the past couple of days while keeping an eye on N78.
She was sleeping at the side of the box after her meal which was something she regularly did. She eventually moved to between the bars and continued her rest. I noticed she was gently panting but looked comfortable. At 10:17 she just stopped breathing. I called Peter and let him know. They took their rescue to rehab, sent notification to Gord and called RFO at Nutrien to seek his assistance in clearing the box. No fun job for him either. Bev is now out on fledge watch. Give us some time to regroup. I am sure she will have more to report later, but now we still have work to do.

From the website...I pray they get some answers.

    July 27

We have some very unfortunate news at Nutrien. Both the young male and female peregrine falcons died suddenly yesterday. The wildlife biologist has removed the birds and will be conducting a necropsy to see if they can determine the cause of death.

sorry , I have not replied to Emyraulds very nice and heartfelt message to all of you. ACA message is only partly right , as is always the case. We AS Emyrauld wrote, RFO falcon removed the precious pair. But they are being sent out for testing. Thankfully we still have 2 from here that will fly at hack site.

I will come back and update on all sites later but We are still on a precarious watch . I am tired, frustrated, sad , and I think Emyruald summed up best. A WRECK. I feel defeated. Emyrauld , is a real trooper, and without her , I could not do this.
So it may be a few weeks yet, till we are done our watches from the ground. The extreme heat we have had and are still experiencing, has delayed growth of all our falcons. :sum7:
