Both can be seen on ledge cam. One at far end of ledge and one by cam rod

I think ( my opinion) that they are making sure intruder does not come back)
I really think it is too confused.

UPDATE: Some experts have said this was an adult male falcon mix, possible a Peale's falcon. Definitely a falconry bird.
The long-awaited arrival of Hartley & Monty's first egg of 2024 was met with an unwelcome visit by a juvenile peregrine falcon, who boldly entered the nest box and persisted for some time. Eventually the intruder was seen off, and the integrity of the egg seems fine at this time.

Just wanted to make sure everyone here got the update that the falconry bird has been collected and returned to their owner.

Many thanks to the California Falconry community for their quick work on this unusual incident! Fun facts: the bird was a 9 year captive bred anatum peregrine who was clearly very excited about the arrival of the first egg. It was from a line of birds that retains that dark streaking through the breast in their adult plumage. While Monty was clearly upset with the intrusion, it was so interesting to see Hartley e-chup along with the intruder like they were having a little baby shower! Glad all seems to be moving along smoothly now.

some worried that eggs were not incubated overnight. I always trust in the falcons. they seem to know best.
