Bird Cams Around the World

I thought the babies went onto ledge a little too soon this year. If you think about the last few weeks they were almost lethargic at times because of the heat which I believe comes into the nest box from the exhaust system. Lord knows DIxie sure was suffering so I how could they not be. I believe the babies ( I've been calling them Millie and Molly; Millie could have worked for Mildred or Milford if one were a boy) escaped to the ledge to cool off initially. We had some bad weather passing through during the night and then it's been rather windy. Those tiny bodies couldn't withstand the wind.
So those are my thoughts. I've been choking up and tearing up most of the day. Hopefully they didn't suffer. What a tragedy! Fly free Millie and Molly. You had many pulling for you that's for sure!!!!!!! Bless your hearts Dixie and Hickory!!!!


PS I asked the DEC a few years back why they couldn't take that nest box down because of the heat situation. She said oh no we couldn't do that, we'd have to get a permit, etc. Well get the damn permit!!! Is it okay to watch these beautiful birds suffer? I think not! They have so many other obstacles to overcome in this world and it wouldn't hurt to give them a fighting chance..................... Now would it?

I am to post on peregrine place and see where else I have to write.

The heat is a big problem. I watched the chick this morning, go back and forth, panting.I am still sad beyond words. I wish I had not seen it. It tried to catch itself.

You are right SGB! Location matters. I think I was watching a box in Arizona some years ago and I couldn't watch because of the heat and the suffering. I didn't mean to disparage anyone yesterday, i.e. DEC. I just felt horrible about what happened. Still do. Life goes on!!!!!!!

Dixie removed egg this morning
HIckory was there.

Dixie had been there all nigh t and morning and then she left. hickory came in and then Dixie. it was if they had discussed it was time . And he was there saying a farewell.

The tears will not stop and I am no t sure why. Wasted life, I guess, a first nesting for HIckory, and who knows about Dixie. just no righ t words.

They have to worry about Great horned owl, but that is nature.

I just bit th e bullet and paid photo bucket so all my pictures are active again, in archives here etc

so I can continue working on a slide show for Yankee. It takes me awhile with the many sites to watch but it will get done.
