The male is surprised. Where did the chicks come from?

The female ignores him. Is she hunting or bringing food from the pantry?

I have not seen the male bring food to the nest.

The 3rd egg hatched early this morning. The NG (new guy) continues to bring food to Nova where she goes out on the deck to get it from him.

The eyases are doing well and New Guy continues to stand guard and help Nova with getting food. Sadly, even though watchers have searched, there’s been no sign of Neander. New Guy has gotten close to the box but usually keeps his distance. This pic was from today when he got close to Nova and the eyases….getting braver.

Rfalconcam: Our 1st eyas is a male and he is named Zephyrus - We offer the name Zephyrus to honor our Greece Schools and because it means "west wind," symbolizing speed and agility.
This name was submitted by Elizabeth Simons' students at Greece Olympia School in Greece, NY

Rfalconcam: - Our 2nd eyas is a male named Anders in honor of Neander and his guardian spirit, strength, and bravery. His soul will live on in one of his new falcons so that he will never be forgotten to all who loved him and watched him be a loyal partner to Nova. The name Anders was submitted by Lori Zurick of Hilton, NY and selected by an overwhelming majority of the Rfalconcam community.

Rfalconcam:-Our 3rd eyas is a male named Denali. For the highest mountain, not only in the US but in all of North America. It is also the tallest mountain in the world from base to peak on land.
Mountains always remind me of falcons, not only for the cliffs that they nest on but for the height, strength, and power that mountains represent. This name was submitted by Susan Kraftschik of Tucson, AZ

I do too! Such a great tribute to our beloved Neander, who is missed so very much. Thankfully, New Guy has stepped up to the plate, providing food on a regular basis and has taken steps to feeding the eyases on occasion, under Nova’s watchful eye. Hopefully, things go just as well when they all fledge.
