There are only two chicks and egg left in the nest box. I was reviewing the chat (which is in French) and there is some speculation that Polly or another falcon ate one.

It is at the top of the page in red. I just looked thru the archives & didn't see anything unusual, but not everything shows up in the archives. I think Eve keeps a video backup though, so she can probably look into it...

I do not mean to be rude here but sometimes caht rooms get carried away and a lot of misinformation is passed on.

that is why I do not go into them as a rule.
so lets hope that this is the case, because an adult would not eat a live chick.

I'm afraid there are only two left. I saw with my own eyes there was only two. Spirit and Roger left them alone after the 3rd one disappeared to go search for the missing chick. Spirit came back and has been sitting on the two chicks and the egg since then. I assume Roger is out Polly hunting. (My son speaks French, so I have been getting him to translate all the info posted in the chat box at http://www.livestream.com/fauconsudem?u ... ooterlinks )

I had a feeling what was being posted was right as Eve was in that chat room and she was not disagreeing with anything being said about Polly.

This is so heartbreaking...it's such sad, devastating news.

OMG, I am so terribly sad to hear this development. I never really thought that Polly would take or kill one of the chicks. I haven't seen any pictures and don't won't too but I wonder if the parents were unable to prevent her from doing it one time, I fear they can't stop her next time. Of course I guess it could have been another falcon, but how likely is that? I am shocked really and very sorry.
