The Wilmington page is closed so I'm taking the liberty of posting this here. I was downtown this afternoon. At 3:06 pm EST (8:06 pm Greenwich) the adult male peregrine (Trinity?) was perched on the corner of the Brandywine Building roof, while the female (Red Girl?) circled low overhead.

Thanks for your report, Greg! It's wonderful that our beloved couples are sighted and gearing up for the season!! Just saw a flock of some type of black bird flying noisily past the point between the ledge and tracks. Not used to seeing that here. Guess they figure Lil Dad and Niecey are still asleep and they can afford to take the shortcut this time! :teehee:

I always enjoy your reports, Greg - thanks! Not sure why the Wilmington page was closed when you tried to post, as there are several things on there now, including some shared videos. There are no falcons in sight in Harrisburg at the moment.

Lil Dad is our Red Girl's father. He has a long-term parter, Niecey. Every year he disappears for a while after their kids leave. This year another male showed up while he was away and has been having some success at courting Niecey. Lil Dad was overdue to return, and the web cam watchers had their talons crossed for what must have seemed forever.

Well Lil Dad has returned. There was a territorial dispute with the new male, and now Lil Dad has been seen making display flights for his long time partner, Niecey.”

Thanks to Loza for the post from Wilmington. Our dearly departed "Mom" was the most awesome of falcons. And tiga8, that is an interesting video from this afternoon. I saw Niecey on the ledge shortly before I left to go downtown, but didn't notice that she was obviously watching something. I spent about 45 minutes downtown this afternoon, and did not see any falcon activity. I looked in all the usual spots. I suspect that something is going on that can't be seen from the cams. It's not possible for someone to be down there watching all day long.

Thanks for report Jane. I didn't expect to see a picture of Mom on the forum after all of this time. I had forgotten how beautiful she was. What I do remember is that you never had to worry about the chicks getting fed or left out when Mom was there. And she would instruct Lil' Dad exactly what, how, and when something needed to be done.

Dear Lil' Dad. Hope everything works out this year. I know that he is old, but he's so cute and knowledgeable when it comes to raising chicks. (thanks Mom) There is no better mate and he should be here until he decides not to be.

I have not seen a falcon via the cams all day. I do have a report from a very reliable source that Niecey was seen somewhere between 12 and 1, flying in from the direction of the river, circling over the Carson Building, and then flying off.
