01/26-27 Info from the preview page

"After quite the eventful evening, Harriet, M13 and the eaglets are all sleeping peacefully.

1:20am Rain begins. 2:20am It’s raining in earnest now.

Harriet is doing the best she can to shield the eaglets."

Thanks for the heads up Loza! My curiosity was piqued when I read Loza's caption above her pics and I found the report and video by Lady Hawk of the event that occurred @ 2146 last eve that is referred to from Mod. Thought it was interesting that E13 was the first to react and awaken to the commotion, even before his Mom!! That boy has quick reflexes that will serve him well in the future!

Report by Lady Hawk: M is sleeping in the attic when a sneak attack by what appears to be an owl knocks right into him and sends him downward until he catches lift and can fly off. He circles the pasture a couple of times before returning to the the branch. In the nest, Harriet and the E's were sleeping but it was E13 who awakened first followed by Harriet who vocalized her warnings. E12 slept through it but Harriet was alert for some time afterwards. Thirteen minutes after the first attack, Harriet vocalizes loudly again at 7:01 - was the owl still in the area? Cam 2 did not show anything flying overhead but she obviously heard or sensed something. M is okay and is still on the branch guarding his family. 01-31-19 SWFL eagles; lots going on.

First, we see some great wingers from E13.
Then, M brings in a fish and sets it on E13's tail.
He starts to feed the Es from another fish,
until Harriet sees him and decides she wants that one for herself.

Read your account of the owl knocking the Dad off his roost.
Yep. The owls play tag with eagles at night. I remember.
Seems to be a game, but the eagles need to guard their young.
An owl will take one - and - and eagle took 2 young osprey a few years ago.

I remember an owl trying to steal the Decorah nest - before eggs.
And the eagle slammed into the owl
So .. its Nature's deadly game we witness on cam

Wow Loza!! When E12 goes to the edge for a "look-see" @ the world ... I don't think there was one more step to step on.

Just got home and turned on my computer and a pop-up tells me there is a beautiful close-up of Harriet @ SWFL! I was stunned, I wasn't even signed in @ BCAW!! Nor have I signed up for any notification if there is such an option here. I must be getting old as it made me uncomfortable. I didn't click on it to see if it would bring me directly here, but did come in and sure enough ... a beautiful close-up of Harriet! :teehee:
