Samson is currently on the nest!! Checking mod comments, he came in with a stick!! They didn't say what he did with it. This is his 2nd visit and there have been 2 brief visits by an unknown eagle this morning!

tweetie_AEF (Moderator): The new visitor flew in again with vocals at 2:52, flew, returned immediately, more vocals, then flew again! Samson is no doubt nearby making it a bit nervous about hanging around at the nest!

All 3 cams remain down as Shep reported above. At 7:00 AM Gretchen reported 1 eagle in nest and 1 perched this morning. They are not id'd @ this time! Going back to Tuesday eve, A2 defended her nest from 1 of the visiting eagles when she found it on the nest. No fighting. Samson did show up that eve and slept overnight. It became confusing early Wednesday morning when Samson somehow morphed into a visiting eagle, but understood now cams were coming and going with the ant invasion and Samson had actually left and the visitor arrived. Interesting is Samson's willingness to show up @ the nest even with visiting eagles coming and going when previously, he would take a break for a few days ...

gretchen_AEF (Admin): Per our technician, Connor: All web and Axis cams are down. Since it has been pretty cold in NEFL, some ants have decided to take up residence in the network box. They have crawled into our network switch and have taken it down. We will update you as we know more.

Just finished gleaning chat tonight for any new info. Mod said ground crew was @ nest 3 times yesterday and did not see anyone. Gretchen saw an eagle who is not A2, but maybe Samson or visitor on Lookout Point @ 5:20 this eve. So far, ant trap placed in box is not working and a part may have to be ordered to make repair to cams. I'm sure Gretchen will have "Tuck-In" report later tonight and maybe we will learn more @ that time.

gretchen_AEF (Admin): THURSDAY Tuck-In: Checking the equipment box (for ants) this morning and the Hamlet for our eagles, two eagles were soaring above. They soon flew to the nest. One perched (either Samson or the visitor) and A2 was sounding off gently in the nest. They soon flew. Tonight at approximately 5:30 either Samson or the visitor was perched on LOP. We may not have cams, but the eagles are still around! SED Y'all

gretchen_AEF (Admin): We still have ants in the equipment box that need to be eradicated with caution. Glenn did a process this morning and "ticked" the ants off. They went crazy and some with eggs, so they were serious. There were hundreds taking up residency in the box due to the cold nights lately. Glenn will do the process again later. The audio will have to wait till possibly tomorrow, but we have cams. . .and a beautiful eagle in view!

As of 3 am Visiting eagle is still perched on the Sunset branch and all is very peaceful.
3:35 Eagle is awake for a bit of preening and then right back to tuck again

Tuck-In report said ants are gone for the most part and audio to be worked on today.
